Miss Pin-up UK, a new camera, the circus, Vintage Trouble and Shhh! Burlesque (image heavy)

Well what a week that was. First of all I was honoured to welcome the current Miss Pin-up UK, Miss Scarlett Lux, in the studio to create a mix of Boudoir and Pin-up imagery. On that day, I also took delivery of a brand new camera and couldn't resist using it on the spot.

As you can see, she came with just a corset, garter belt, stockings, heels and a robe but with the use of props and creative lighting we still came away with a wide selection of images.

Then a day later, the circus came to town and, as I was to cover the Shhh! Burlesque show at the Bridgwater town hall at the week-end, it was the perfect opportunity to test the low-light capabilities of the new camera.

Then on the Thursday, I travelled to the Bristol Bierkeller to watch the L.A based rhythm and blues band Vintage Trouble and took the camera with me as I had done on their previous visit to Bristol.

And finally on Saturday came the Shhh! Burlesque show at the Bridgwater town hall which featured not only the only Dita Von Teese tribute act in the world Carrie Ann O'Dell but also some of the very best that the UK Burlesque scene has to offer. As you can see, Bridgwater was very much ready for it as people were queuing outside the venue in anticipation of a great show.

On make-up artists...

Is a make-up artist necessary for my Boudoir/Pin-up session? Well, I certainly think so.

A good make-up artist (and ours are very good indeed) knows how photography lights work and how hungry for make-up our cameras are. Because they know this, they'll be able to apply not only the right make up but also the right amount of make up for you to look and feel fabulous. They stay on set through the shoot so that if needed, they can touch up your make-up of hair straight away so that you remain fabulous throughout.

And besides, when you come to us we want you to enjoy the experience as much you will enjoy your pictures and being pampered by your hair and make-up artist is a big part of it.

I'll finally leave you with a few images from a recent shoot where, with careful planning, we managed to create and shoot two entirely different looks within the 4 hours shoot window which likely wouldn't have been possible without the make-up artist on set.
